I am captivated by the idea of making what is unseen yet deeply felt, visible. Seeking to capture the presence of moving air, my work invites viewers to slow their pace and allow breath, stillness, and awareness to guide their experience.
Drawing inspiration from nature’s most essential element, I keep organic principles at the forefront of both material and process. Thousands of individual paper elements are cut into curved forms, folded, and connected to create flowing peaks and valleys, rounded contours, and spiraling movement. While each piece begins with a loosely outlined plan, the final composition evolves intuitively as I respond to the shifting lines and spatial rhythm that emerge during construction.
Over time, air revealed itself as an essential guide in my own experience — something we depend on constantly yet rarely notice. A cooling breeze on a stifling day, the invisible wind of change at pivotal moments, the quiet power of a slow inhale and exhale. Air embodies metamorphosis, healing, and grounding. Through my work, I hope to awaken a sense of mindfulness in the viewer — an invitation to reconnect inward, to recognize the quiet power of simplicity.
From a distance, the art reveals gentle movement and atmospheric transitions; upon closer inspection, the individual paper components become visible, collectively forming something far greater than their parts.
